  • When blanching vegetables, vitamins and fibre are preserved by adding salt and oil into the boiling water.

  • To reduce the discomfort of having a burning tongue after taking spicy food, drink a glass of milk, preferably soya bean milk.

  • To get instantly sweet and juicy watermelon or honeydew, sprinkle a little salt over the cut fruits before consumption.
